Bryan and I’s two year wedding anniversary is coming up on May 11th and to celebrate we ventured to Charleston, SC for a long weekend getaway! We have been wanting to take a trip to Charleston for a long time after hearing from so many people about how great of a city it is. If I could sum it all up in two words it would be: SOUTHERN.FOOD. Seriously. It was all incredible – from shrimp and grits to fried chicken, and all that is in between! Now, coming home we both feel the need to run a little bit extra at the gym this week.

Aside from eating grits, grits, and more grits…we had the opportunity to take in one of the most beautiful places we both had ever visited. I would describe Charleston as Pleasantville. Everyone is unusually nice, the streets are spotless, the architecture is gorgeous, and you can get from a beautiful downtown atmosphere to a beach in just minutes! If you haven’t already been to Charleston, we highly recommend it.

There are so many moments I didn’t capture photos of, from a beach day at Isle of Palms, golfing The Links at Stono Ferry, and all of the food I mentioned (though I’m sure that could have been a post all on its own), but I wanted to share a few photos from our trip below: A stroll along the waterfront/Rainbow Row, a visit to Boone Hall Plantation, a wonderful visit with our good friends from Hilton Head, and our special anniversary date night dining at the Charleston Grille.

Starting with the pineappliest fountain that I ever did see:
